Post Won't start

I was just wondering if someone could help me. I have an 87 ford e-150 van and after I drive it a while and it sits for a while it won't start. I took it to a mechanic and he said it was the control module. That was what I thought too and had the old one checked at auto zone. It checked out good but the mech said those tests are not always accurite. I paid him the diognostic fee and went and bought a new module. It still does the same thing. I need this van for work tuesday and hope someone can help. It will start fine in the a.m. Thanks

So what's it doin'? Does it turn over? Make any clicking noises? What are some of the symptoms associated with not starting?

If it turns over does it get spark to the plugs?? If not it might be the ignition module. That's a fairly common problem on Fords.
