This is my "soon to be" project truck. I've never done a build before and I know NOTHING about cages (I'm a Harley Mechanic, over 3 wheels and I go cross-eyed). It's a 65 and the body is in damn good shape. No engine.....no transmission.....no interior. Planning on picking up a new 460 engine, new 4 speed Toploader trans. Hell, the way it's looking, everything's going to be new. 2 year project and I'm actually going to try to avoid used parts. I've always wanted to do a build and I'll know if I'm going to be able to in a couple weeks. I'm not going "top-of-the-line" on my projected build, but I'm not going cheap either. Momma gave me permission (what the hell was she thinking), so I'm looking at a budget of around $20,000 total (not included in that is the cost of the roller, $2500). So, that would put the # around $22,500. Never thought I'd put that much $ into a cage. Engine/Transmission/Paint is going to be the largest envestment. Any info and input would be very much appreciated. I've got Ole Blue (91 F-150 2WD) to get my around til the "Death Proof Truck" build is over. Almost forgot to mention....this truck will be my dailey driver! I'll be posting seperate threads dealing with engine selection, transmission selection, and on and on. My wife and my 12 year old daughter will be helping on the build. I'm excited as hell about the next couple of years and can't wait to get down and dirty with her. I've never posted pics in here before, so bear with me if I mess this up.
