2004 XL and 20 inch wheels

I apologize for this post on a somewhat highly discussed topic, but I couldn't find a specific answer to my question. I recently purchased a 2004 XL longbed 4X2, new body style. As any good owner should do, I've started to work on it a bit, starting with a 2.5 leveling kit, some lights, and more fun to come. It currently has the stock 17X7.5 steel rims with 235/75 tires (from the previous owner). I have purchased some 2012 F150 6X135 20X8.5 rims with the stock 275/55 Pirellis. They came off a truck that was being customized. My goal was just to fill the space a bit more and graduate up to larger tires as time goes on. These will get me to 32, which is a start

My question is, are these 20" rims going to fit my truck as it stands, or will I need spacers? I saw some posts about this, but nothing specific to the 2004 F150. My hope is that the answer is no spacers, because I was all set to to do this on Friday, and had not thought about the potential spacer need before.

Welcome.

The OEM 20"s should fit your truck just fine. The 2012 trucks still have the same wheels specs, etc as our years. The FX2 and 2wd Lariats come with 20" options, so you should be just fine based upon what you've just stated.

Dont forget to take pics and document your work here!
Again, welcome to FTE.

Thanks!

I appreciate the response and that is good to hear. I did a lot of research and reading before choosing these wheels, but the spacer question had not come up in anything I read until recently. I'm looking forward to being a part of this group and will post pics as soon as they are on. Thanks !
