advice on purchase of used 99 F250
Hi all,
After 21 yrs, I have finaly decided to replace my 1977 F250 (435K on the truck and 321K on the 400 engine) with something a bit newer.
There is a real nice condition 99 F250 extra cab 4x4 XLT v10 w/ 190K miles on it for sale that caught my eye.
The gas engine is just fine for what this truck will be doing plus the fact that diesel fuel is 40 to 50 cents more a gallon than regular in my neck of the woods.
Any advice on things to look for when deciding on this truck?
I do know about the exhaust studs and spark plug stuff for the v10 but those are not big issues in my book.
Thanks
Scott

Smell the tranny dipstick for burnt oil. 2 of 3 recently bought lately near me had bad trannies all smelt bad too. Power door locks, but easy to fix. O2 sensors and cats go bad around 200,000.
If it drives nice with power scan it and buy it. Now I never buy with out a good car scan with AE Snapon or the likes. Too many cleared codes could be there.
