Hello every one,
I purchased a 97 f150 with a vortech blower. The truck needed a frame. Before the truck got taken apart it started to get a miss. Now the trucks almost finished and i just put new plugs wires and still have the miss. I tried 2 different coil packs and still have the miss. codes are po353 and po354. coil c and d on secondary coil pack. I'm not entirely sure but I believe with the blower there's a timing retard. When we took the body off we had to unplug 3-4 wires due to the way they ran it. I think this might be the reason im getting the miss but mostly because the wires might not be in the correct plugs. If anyone one at all has the vortech blower and knows about this timing retard wires please take a picture of the plug and send it to me.

 

timing retard??? normally one gets tune (inside the ECM) to control the timing...




did you ever consider that maybe someone messed up some wiring in the accident

 

My Vortech came with an MSD Boost retard(dial on the dash). It would cut "X" degrees timing out per so many pounds of boost. This was on a '96 F350/460ci.


Not sure how it all works with Mod motors and coil on plugs? Don't know where it all ties in at??? I'm sure you could contact Vortech and get the wiring schematic(instruction booklet).
