67 F250 Flywheel damaged. Need new one!

So I just pulled my engine to replace the oil pan gasket and oil pump along with some other stuff and discovered the fly wheel has some major damage to the teeth. I've been researching replacements and was wondering if anyone had suggestions... The engine is a standard FE 352, I see there are selections with a different number of teeth, weight. I believe the clutch plate is 12inches but as I stated in my first post I'm not a knowledgeable engine guy yet. I measured across what I believe to be the clutch plate with my tape measure and there you have it. pictures included. Thanks for feedback Not sure why the flywheel photos turned sideways

Its an automatic, so you don't have a clutch, count the teeth on your flywheel and get one with the same number, and for a 352, and most likley a C6 trans.

Classic, I love saying stupid things!!! I had a feeling the clutch plate was only on MT's but i didn't listen to my inner voice and just wrote what I saw on the parts catalogs. Counting sounds way to logical Thank you for the suggestion, I think I'll do a bit more thinking before posting.

Does anyone have a preference in brand of Flywheel they've used?

Let's build some street cred... manual trannies have a flywheel, clutch disc, and pressure plate. Ya got an automatic.. it's called flexplate to which the torque converter is bolted.

Count the teeth.. prolly 184 of 'em.

Here you go: ATP 135-Z158 - ATP Flexplates - Overview - SummitRacing.com

HIO Silver, I purchased the Ford 1967 Ford Truck Shop Manual CD about a week ago hoping it would get here before I started. I'm guessing alot of my questions would have been answered with a little reading. This forum is so awesome, thank you for the part info I'll be ordering that today.

Same-o same-o:

C5AZ-6375-D .. A/T Flywheel (flexplate) / 1965/67 F100/350 352 MX Cruise-O-Matic / 1968/76 F100/350 360/390 C6 / 1965/71 Ford/Merc Passenger Cars 352/390 FX/MX Cruise-O-Matic & C6.

Local NAPA, other autoparts stores should have it, so you don't have to buy it elsewhere, then pay shipping charges.

CA resident: Are you located here in LA LA Land? If so, Engler Brothers Auto Parts on Pico Blvd in Santa Monica is the best dang autoparts store for older vehicles.

The 1964/72 Ford Truck Parts Catalog is available on a CD from hipoparts.com for 22 bucks.

Not much chance of getting the wrong one but I alwasy lay the new on top of the old to make sure it looks right. I've had parts stores with mis-labeled one before.

You should be able to get a new flexplate from your local auto parts store.

You can flip your ring gear also. Cheaper than buying a new one.
I've had it done on autos and manuals. Just have a good shop do it.
New flexplates are also cheep. I boughtne once.

flywheel

250 ret , Be sure to replace the starter drive with a NEW ONE, rebuilt starters always come with rebuilt drives which are not the best . Any time I have to replace a starter I buy a NEW drive and install it. This may sound a little silly but 50 plus experience years did teach me a few things. On rebuilt drives the teeth are reground back which increases the distance to the flywheel and when the thrust shoulders on the main bearings wear also increases the distance. If you compare a new drive to a rebuilt you will see the difference. This is what causes the GRINDING sound when the starter does not engage the flywheel at the right time. That is another reason your flywheel looks like it needs dental work.
Good luck , Kenny

The ring gear is usually welded on flex plates, on flywheels it is a press fit.
