7.3 + CNG?

7.3 + CNG?
Been a while since I'd posted, just been busy.
With the price of diesel headed upwards again I got to thinking. (Yeah I know that's dangerous)
Anyone ever run a 7.3 on CNG? Is there a kit?
Our trucks spend most of the time just driving around the farm (just a few miles) so range isn't much of an issue. I've checked into what a small CNG refill station would be and it wasn't as much as I thought. I know larger of our counties trucks & some town buses in town have been running on CNG for several years now.
Might be something to try - doesn't fit well for most but I think in our case we might be able to at least take a shot at it. Natural gas is cheap around here.

I've never heard of running a 7.3 on straight CNG. I have propane hookup on my truck and was thinking about running CNG instead of propane as a supplement to the diesel. I did find some info on that, I know that much can be done. you might have to build your own kit for something like that. Sorry couldn't be much help.

I found a few articles on adding CNG as a suppliment to burning diesel but nothing on running pure CNG. The buses in town that are running on CNG were bought maybe 5-6 yrs ago but I don't know who the engine mfg is. I also have heard UPS & FEDEX are testing CNG trucks in their fleets but can't seem to find much info on them. Guess I'll keep searching - if I run across something good I'll post a link.

That truck on top gear was not a diesel it was a Gasser. They dubbed the semi sound and squeaky air brakes sound.

The ones I'm referring to are class 8 trucks, the CNG testing program for UPS began w/ delivery trucks and has grown into the class 8 program - have a friend who works for Mack and he says a lot of class 8 fleet owners are looking @ CNG powered trucks for city delivery use. Not so much for hwy but great for around town. (Like buses where CNG 1st started)
We're mainly interested for the same reason the fleet guys are - lower operational cost for trucks that don't stray far from home base. Wouldn't be practical for our tractor trailer operation but we do think it'd be a good fit for our feed trucks. We've inquired w/ Mack/Volvo about CNG hvy duty trucks and they say the are coming for 2013. Have not ordered yet but we do need to replace 2 trucks next year - that has really got us thinking if we go CNG why not do a few med trucks too.

I have a Isuzu NPR that has CNG and it was the worst decision I’ve made.
It’s just a PITA filling up,the size of the tanks for 38gl take up so much room and you have to have it re certified every 3 years.
See that hat tank on the side ? Well it has another one on the driver the same size that both together make 38gl.
