Front end swap questions

My F100 project is still in the planning stage, won't start on it for a month or so yet. I am considering a front suspension swap and have spent about an hour searching and reading. I know the crown vic is popular but what about width? I'd like to keep basic stock style steel wheels. All of the pictures I see they end up using the modern deep offset wheels to keep the tires inside the fenders and that type of wheel is just not my style.
How about an Aerostar? I realize the steering shaft issue and according to my tape measure is only about 2 inches wider than stock. Anyone have pictures of an Aerostar installed. P.S. I want to keep it Ford, not interested in more information on Volare, Dakota swaps at this point.

THartman is starting off with a positive reputation.
With the CV you can run steelies - just need the different offset.

Have you considered the Jag IFS/IRS swap? Ford did own Jag for a few years.

Not many Jags in the junkyards of western S.D. Aerostars I can find for cheap/free, that's why I am driven to find out more on that swap.
So with steelys offset to run on a crown vic and dog dish caps, wouldn't it end up with the caps sticking out past the tires like an old Toronado looked? Just wondering.
