Prepping for my day at the dealer tomorrow

Sooooo, takin' the truck in tomorrow for a preliminary "look" at what may be causing my trans leak. It's a small leak fortunately but it's easier for me to get it in for the work now before winter hits. Unfortunately the dealer I purchased my truck from as well as where I take it for service is about a half hour away and they're booked out like 3 weeks currently. The service advisor asked if I could drop it off for the day so they can take a look. I asked if they had wifi, nope. Darn, can't work there all day (and test drive everything under the sun). So that leaves me with 3 options:

A. Rent a car - lame, and a waste of money
B. Ask the wife to pack the kids up and meet me there for a ride home (not a favor I'm willing to cash in)
C. Pack the DS bike up, unload when I get there and take the scenic route back home for the day. When the dealer's done, head back out.

Yeah, option C sounds best.

I'll report back with my transmission woes. It seems to be dripping between the motor/trans. It drives fine, level is fine, just leakin'.

Anyways, pics of chosen option for my 8am jaunt. It's an '05 XR650L, mostly stock but a few basic mods (FMF pipe, smog block off kit, some carb work).

They'll only provide it if they have it for more than a business day.

Nice bike!

I have a pair of 8' aluminum ramps that I use. Walk up one while workin' the gas/clutch on the other. I gotta admit, loading the bike into this truck is much easier than my 2000 (6.5" lift and 37" tires)!!

Man you've got one badass truck Those new tires look sweet and that stance is PERFECT. My next truck will probably be something close to that. Good luck at the stealership

I have a blackberry, and I could tether laptop off my personal phone, but their chairs suck and I have a couple of meetings to call into. Nobody wants to hear "PARTS LINE 1!!! PARTS LINE 1!!!" all day.

Plus it gave me a reason to load up the ds bike.

Welp, pretty much uneventful. They acknowledged that there is a very small leak but were unable to determine where it was coming from so they cleaned the entire underside of the truck and threw some dye in the transmission. They said drive it a couple weeks and give us a call and we'll take a look again. So when that happens, I'll reply to the thread.

Here's a couple pics of my setup. I usually try to find an angled driveway or something to lessen the approach angle of the ramps.
