Where to purchase Egr/Oil Coolers from?

I'm contemplating replacing my coolers this fall, truck has 91k on her and my delta's and inching further apart each week it seems. I'll have some down time in a month or so, so I'd like to do it then. I'm not looking to delete at all, just replace. I helped a friend of mine replace his last fall, just before he was shipped off to the Air Force, don't know where he purchased from. Anyway, is it still best to use BPD Egr cooler & factory oil cooler? Thanks for your help.

That's what I did. BPD has the EGR Cooler with the tubing inside. Much stronger for a decent price. Tousley has a good price on the factory oil cooler.

Thank you Rusty. Did you buy from BPD directly? How much did everything cost you?

I purchased my oil cooler though RiffRaff:

Riffraff Diesel: Ford Oil Cooler 03-07
(almost $10 cheaper than Tousley)

It's the OEM oil cooler kit, so your good there...just a better price. Unfortunately he doesn't carry EGR coolers...just the delete kits.

I used the stock version of it before, but is the BPD version of the oil cooler any better?

6.0 parts

My truck is an '06. I had steam out tailpipe on cold starts and EOT/ECT spread was getting high. No HPOP problems but I did the STC anyway. Stand pipes and dummy plugs are still on the shelf awaiting future issues. Didn't look like too big of a deal to go back in later to change em.

NT-EGRC-1 Square, Lifetime warranty $350
90100033. EGR cooler gasket set complete (has intake gaskets) $134.95
They give you 30 days to get your core back to them, they provide pre-printed labels.
Core charge. $50
Shipping wasn't free $25.11 * * * * * (S. Alabama)
So, BPD total was $510.06 after core credit.

Got the Oil Cooler Kit from Tousley's. Came in a genuine Ford parts box with instructions from MAXXFORCE Adavanced Diesel Power. Comes with seal kit.
3C3Z-6A642-CA $241.47
Free shipping.*

I got 2 Fumoto valves for the block drains from quickoildrainvalve.com*
F108N valve with nipple (2 each) $53.90
Group buy discount (DSC-7). -$8.08
Shipping $6.00
Total. $51.82

And from my local Dealership:
4C3Z-9B246-F. STC fitting kit (upgraded 1 piece w/seals) list $67.08 BIL* $50.31
6E7Z-9A332-A. Stand pipes (seals pre-installed 2each) list$145.66 BIL. $95.00
-W302908. Dummy plugs (2 each). list$47.16. BIL. $35.38
Total. $196.05. (* BIL is brother in law price)

Also, add chemicals, fluids and misc. (new tools, Beer *)

I believe the BPD version is external...or do they offer two versions? I know Tim (nccpartsman) is running an external version on his truck...so he would be a good guy to talk shop about external verses internal (stock) oil coolers. He isn't using the Racor filter anymore...the BPD comes with it's own spin on filter. And that style oil cooler is air cooled...don't have to worry about coolant clogging it. I also know that it doesn't use the Racor filter...I want to say he removed the entire filter/cooler assembly when he went to BPD oil cooler. But it's been a while...like I said, he'd be the guy you'd want to talk to...if you can do it to a 6.0L there's a good chance he's already done it.

Thank you, I wanted to keep this as simple as possible. So I guess I'll look into a stock unit. I'd rep you, but I gotta spread more around buddy...

I think there are at least four options on oil coolers. The factory replacement, an improved cooler that goes int the factory location and has a extra row of coolant passages, the BPD external air cooled set up, and a relocated factory cooler that mounts somewhere near the alternator making oil cooler changes quick n easy.
