Welcome to the site.

Oil is usually a personal preference. I like Valvoline, others like something else. Depending on weather, 10w30 or 10w40 is good for me.

I'd choose Motorcraft plugs. There again, personal preference.

I just switched my oil to Mobile 1 synthetic 5W-30 but you could probably use 10W-30/40. Will be changing my plugs out soon and also going with the Motorcraft plugs.

I'd go with 10w30 for your cold weather, 10w40 for warmer times. I run 10w40 year around without issue. Just gets a bit stiff turning over if really cold spell hits.

I always used conventional Valvoline 10-30. Then switched to Mobil 1 synthetic. My rear main started to leak. I switched back to conventional valvoline and the leak stopped

Always use fully synthetic or fully conventional. Never semi, it's a marketing scam. They charge you three times the price of conventional oil for conventional oil with 10% synthetic in it.

It's true synthetic blend is a ripoff so don't bother. Also don't bother with full synthetic unless the engine has very low miles and you're going to keep the truck forever. Anything else like high milage oil is also a ripoff.

If you can't find valvoline than use pennzoil or quaker state or any other name-brand oil, they're all good.

The only real benefit to fully synthetic oil is the long-term wear protection on a new or like new engine. If an engine gets full synthetic it's whole life and is maintained properly you can expect significantly longer life (which is why it's only worth it if you plan to keep the truck forever). If you have an engine that already has over 100k on it and it has not had synthetic oil then there will likely be no significant benefit. Now if you have a low mileage truck (or proof that the engine has low miles) and you have no intention of ever selling it then defiantly run full synthetic.

Of course it's been six and a half years since I worked in a lube shop and was expected to know this stuff so it's entirely possible there has been new developments in engine oil that aren't marketing scams, but that's how it was back when I was doing oil changes.

For your engine 5W-30 is the oil that Ford says to use.
I use Castrol 5W-30 full synthetic in my 7.5L
