4" vs. 5" Exhaust

Is there a reason why you wouldn't want to go with the larger 5" exhaust?

It costs more with the only return being a different sound.

How about Dual vs Single?
Does the dual make flow better?

Thanks

Can't put duals on an Ex without some serious modifications.

The 5" has a deeper tone, but besides the extra cost and some sound you dont get any performance or EGT reduction gains over the 4"

The sponsors will take good care of you just like Stewart says.

Living in TN and driving down a mile dirt/gravel road every day (besides the daily drive) what is a good air intake system to switch too?

Thanks.

The factory air cleaner assembly is good to 500hp.

An aftermarket air cleaner will net you a few ponies and a small reduction in EGT.

I like em because they really make the engine sing. The turbo really can be heard well.

AFE and Volant are popular powerstroke systems.

There is also the Zoodad mod.

For the six-liters, yeah...but not so much the 7.3's.

I prefer the AFE Big Boost BAHF filter. Riffraff Diesel: AFE "Big Boost" BHAF Washable Filter

1. Never heard of Injen.
2. A quick Google search turns up Injen systems selling for well over $300 bucks for different applications.
3. Injen doesn't even make a set up for the 7.3L PSD according to their website.

What's wrong with the one I linked you to? Less than a hundred dollars.

Try Injen Item Number: PF9031WB

Its Nearly $350.00 though. They are big in the import market.

Id go with the BHAF like Stewart suggested and spend the other couple hundred bucks on something else.

Ok, proof their webmaster is stupid.

I typed in that part number and it came back for '02/'03 7.3L PSD Excursions.

Cool.

When I tried to find one on their site for the OP, I used their drop down menu and selected '01 (the OP's year rig) and the Excursions wasn't even an option, much less a 7.3L PSD. That's why I posted they don't have one for the 7.3L Ex.

Buncha ijits they are...LOL!
