Yeah that was one of the worst cases of rust I've come across, It probably was driven every winter with the tons of road salt for 20 years, was never undercoated, then sat in long grass for another 15 years. Then I stole the roof, which is minty fresh

Then it makes you wonder why you see nice cabs with only rusted out roofs.

Lot to do with the climate the truck is in I think. I had never seen a dent with a rusted out roof until I bought this one from the South. I figure the roof rust is caused by extreme sun and heat, bakes the paint and seam sealer, letting moisture in.

It doesn't get near as hot here in Eastern Canada, we do have hot summers, but only a handful of days every year where the temperature gets over 95 - 100. But we have long winters, and DOT loads the salt and calcium or whatever rust inducing brew they come up with onto the roads. Which is why most trucks here suffer from frames, floors, box sides, pretty much anything but the roof.

Picked up a Lund visor and a spare gauge cluster from craigslist for the metric speedometer to replace the standard one.

Wow, I like seeing trucks like this. It makes me feel better about the couple small rust spots I have to deal with.

Good job though

Another overdue update, I bought a set of good doors, a hood and a front bumper to get my front clip together. I had the truck running for a few minutes last weekend, need to install heater hoses and fill it with coolant. Bent up a fuel line from my pump to the carb and installed an inline filter. Got my hydraulic clutch installed and working. I installed my doors today as well, seller said that they had been in his garage for 20+ years. The windows are so clean and scratch free I believe him. They also came with green door panels, I know this are sought after by some, they are in very good shape so I will probably be wrapping them up and storing them for safekeeping.

Front clip assembled, I have since bought headlight buckets and installed my lights. Ordered some buckets for a Sterling truck with the same sealed beam light, $6 a piece! Sure beats LMC and they are genuine Ford parts.

Got some welding done on the holiday Monday.

Drivers floor

Two little spots in the rear window frame

Was rusted out around the switch

Headlights in, may black out the grille and headlight surrounds, planning on painting the truck white.

Doors installed and seat from a '92 installed, the old seat was way past worn out on the drivers side, the new one is very firm, plus has headrests.

Not a whole lot to update on. got a rear window installed, engine, trans and rear end filled with fluids and have been driving it around the property.

Installed a stock muffler off a 2012 GMC Sierra, Nice and quiet and best of all, free.

Having an issue with the brakes, Front brakes are done with all new lines, pads and rotors. Proportioning valve was full of gunk, took it apart and cleaned it out. I have the rear brake line capped off at the proportioning valve temporarily. When I moderatley apply the brakes the brakes will stick on. Let the truck sit for a a few minutes and they will release. I did have a leaking bleeder screw on the left caliper, I fixed it but still having the same problem.

Could the rear line being capped off right at the valve have anything to do with the front brakes locking on? Maybe since the rear line is so short, deadheading the rear pressure right at the valve, and the fronts have work to do forcing the calipers out, the difference in pressure is causing the valve to block off the front lines? Or am I looking at a new proportioning valve?

Going to get the rear brakes done soon so I guess I will find out either way.

I put the Alcoas on my F-250 and love them. IMO they look better than any aftermarket wheel I could've bought.
