Again thanks for the time and help. Its priceless as your willing to take time to do this for people.

Post all the codes below the VIN (SN: serial number aka numerical sequence of assembly is the last 6 digits) and I'll decode them.

Thanks so much. Will try my best to get those numbers tomorrow. Was by the truck today, but did not have my reading glasses so could not make out the info.

Cannot do anything with this "VIN" .. doesn't make any sense. Thru 1980, truck VIN's have 11 digits / 1961/80:

First 3 digits is series code (letter followed by 2 numbers). 4th digit (usually a letter) is the engine code. 5th digit (letter) is the assembly plant code.

Last 6 digits is serial number: 1961/66: 6 numbers / 1967/77: Letter followed by 5 numbers / 1978/80: 2 letters followed by 4 numbers.

Try this should be better than my eyes. Also what I posted was not the vin, but the built info you were going to try and check out for me.

It still doesn't make any sense, because you listed the Type-GVW & Body/Trans/Axle codes in one continuous sequence.

You also typed a B instead of the 8 as the 3rd digit of the Body code. And a 6 instead of the G as the 2nd digit of the Axle code.

As shown on label: Type-GVW: T84300 / Body: HK8 / Trans: FS / Axle: 2GN

Left upper: TRANS codes / Right: Rear Axle codes (first 2 digits) / Left lower: Front Axle codes (3rd digit).

That is why I took a Pic and posted it. Eyes don't see like they used to and mind does not do any better. But a Pic does not lie. So posted a pic and leaves my messup's out of it.

Also Axles is 2GN guessing I seen the G as a 6 so you can see how well my eyes were working under a shed.. But if you look at the Pic you will see most of those numbers are none stop on it. So I did not know better.

My eyes may be older than yours (DOB: 9/9/1944), so I missed the 26N of the axle code. But when I went to look for 26 .. it's not listed as such, so I looked at the label again, and VOILA! .. it's 2GN

Parts catalog pages of apropos TRANS & AXLE codes shown in post 40.

Yes Sir your eyes are sure older then mine. But meds messed mine up bad last year. Insurance made us try a different med and a week later I could not see anything. Swapped back to the main name drug and took a while to get it back.

Again thanks and I hope to find out more about this truck as I go. Still having issues with the manual kill switch. Not sure why it did not have a auto on it?
Going to do a search later today and find the factory color chip. Thinking it used to be a shade color under what it is not. Figure it had a repaint when the up-fitters did there job on it.

Also knowing what axle housing it has will sure help when and If I need seal or bearings along with Brake shoe's and drum's. I'm making up a file on this truck, Trying to come up with any parts or cross numbers for parts. That way if we were to have an issue while traveling across country. That part is covered as we will be replacing any part that needs it or is about to be at the end of its life. Thus turning it into a trust worthy traveling truck. May be an old truck, but with work and love it can be a nice one.

There isn't one. Your truck was a Domestic Special Order, has no exterior color codes printed on the Certification Label, because it was painted a non-standard color (or colors) per the original purchasers order.

Truck has a 6 digit DSO code of 537039.

53 = Kansas City MO Ford District Sales Office, where the original selling dealer ordered the truck from.

7039 = Domestic Special Order number, truck was special ordered by original purchaser, not "bought off the lot."

No color code, dealer contacts FoMoCo with 6 digit DSO. They look up the order, then pass the paint formula back to the dealer.

Thanks for the info.
Would by chance be able to find a Steering Box Coupler that will cross over and fit this truck? That is the only spot I can find any slack in the steering.
