Success! Just replaced AC compressor and condensor

What a PIA! I almost took to. My mechanic but decided what the heck. Took me 6 hours to get that compressor out through the wheel well and the new one back in back in... The back 13mm bolt took at least 2 hours! That one bolt was the hardest part i literally screamed at it at one point. Didnt help but i felt better. It's all clean now new dryer, new orifice tube, condensor, compressor. Pulled a vacuum for an hour and let it set for about 4 hours. Had dinner with the wife then charged it up. 44oz of freon later she's all done. That's how I spent my Saturday!

Congrats! Got to be a great feeling (pride, not just the cold AC).

Already had them from previous adventures... It's a lot easier working on my old 78 Chevy! I could replace the compressor in 10 min! my dad has that old truck now...

Yeah, Thats is a crappy spot to put the AC compressor....

I pulled mine out throug the front of the motor, had to take the fan/shroud belt everything else out of the way, took about 4 hours just for the freaking compressor for me....dont want to do it again LOL

I know the feeling of 2 hours on one bolt. Took me an hour on each side to get the top front shock bolts off, they were rusted to hell and never "broke loose". I fought them the whole way up turning that wrench as hard as I could.

Hey guys 44oz the correct amount? It's cooling about 58 degrees. Low side is 45 at 90 degrees. I don't have a sticker on mine. Just went by what I could cobble off the Internet.

Thanks
