Marmon-Herrington

that's what I was thinking ..Mark just a note ..the Marmon's are an 'orphan" when your trying to have a truck that has out of production parts ..50 year old metal fatigue..or worse dropping a 51 body on a newer frame will be a lot easier to go out and play with ..and wheels and tires are a pain if youget the 6 lug 17 incher's ..just my view ..but no I won't give up my cantankerous ,,frustrating .. piece of ....Ford History for a new truck any day !!!

There are generally older big M-H trucks that show up on CL in the northeast, but if you already have a good foundation truck to convert I can see where just finding original drive train pieces has appeal. But keep in mind too that there will be benefits to getting a complete donor vehicle because there will be a lot of linkage pieces, short drive shaft pieces, brackets, etc. that you won't necessarily get if you just buy axles and transfer case. Also be aware that there are differences in M-Hs. Some that were originally the Snogo plow trucks may have features that won't be readily adaptable to your truck. Finding one that was used in construction, mining, oil exploration, etc, might be more what you're after. I'll again recommend talking to Chuck to have him help you focus your search. Stu

Yep. I understand what you guys are sayin. my truck is actually in very good original shape, so i wana keep the cab, frame, engine and other parts original. I just wana have it with four-wheel drive. Im gona restore, or should i say revive it to a way better quality than it is. Theres just somthing i love about the old four-wheel drive fords. Ill add pics of my truck soon, if i can figure out how.

Love to see the pics.
Go to Photobucket and sign up for a free account. Then create an album for your truck. Upload any pics you want to post on FTE to that album. Have this album open on your computer when you want to post pics on FTE.
While you're making a post on FTE, select the pic you want to post from your Photobucket album. When the large version of the pic is open, right mouse click on it and select "View Image Info". The image info will be highlighted and will look something like this:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...ghtsafter1.jpg
Copy that highlighted info (right click / copy).
When you have the spot in your post where you want the pic to be placed, select the "Insert Image" icon at the top of the post (looks like a mountain) and paste (right click / paste) the image info you copied in the highlighted box (just shows "http://" when it opens).
Your pic will be placed in the post.
Hope that helps.
