Hello, I'm esley. New to the forum.
I'm having trouble with a 88 7.03 .this thing is HARD to start to begin with, has to be jumped some time. But, my main problem is keeping running. I let run out of fuel other nite. put a gallon clean fuel started on it's own everything seemed fine.Drove home 6or7 mi no problem. Next day it started running rough, died at a light.From then on Id be lucky to go 1000 feet it power down and die.It would start after couple min. This kept up til Igot to the house. I replaced the fuel pump,filter. I have fuel in and out of filter fount.Still harder than hell to start,runs kind of rough if Itry to drive it might run a block or so and die. Does anyone if there's a small filter in the line going to the distribuition pump?
So Idon't know. If I take in some place , probably cost more than I paid for thething.. ANY Help would be greatly appreciated!!

welcome to FTE.
these older trucks are known to have the fuel pickup tube in the tanks crack at around 1/4 tank level. anything under 1/4 tank of fuel, and you will start sucking air.

first thing i would try is putting 10 gallons of fuel in it at a minimum and see what happens.
