Installing transmission question for C6
I am installing a sbf 393w with a C6 transmission into my 55' F100. I have a heidt's IFS with a thunderbird IRS. I bought the transmission crossbrace and motor mounts from CPP. My transmission sits lower than I want it to by about 1". Would it be ok to intall a spacer between the cross brace and from to raise it 1"? Or were their any other ideas people have come up with.

I'm still a bit of a newbie the resto part, so with that said, I have seen small spacing done before, i don't think an inch will cause any problems. I would use a square or whatever pad to space it out, not a cylinder, just a logical thought, more surface area and less of a chance to twist. Hopefully some on else will chime in and not completely blow me out of the water

It's certainly ok to modify the mount location to make your engine and trans fit where it needs to. The important thing to remember is to keep the crankshaft angle on the same plane as the rear end pinion angle, and that your carb pad on the intake is level. If that means moving mounts or crossmembers, or adjusting the height of mounts, so be it. As long as it's done safely and correctly.
