Alright Somebody is Lying

So far this morning I have been on the phone with my shop, the custom 4x4 shop in town, Jeff Bronco's Graveyard, Superlift, and Rough Country. At the moment none of them lke me and I wouldn't reommend any of them to anyone. I took my truck in today to get new shocks and radius arm bushings and an alignment today and just like the last time I have my truck in a shop to get that type of work done they bitched about my leveling kit. I ordered a supelift leveling kit for a supercab f150 from jeffs bronco graveyard that came with the springs and the aftrmarket buishings for it. I didnt get the one with shocks because I didnt think I would need them. Anyways the first time I went to a shop to get an alignment who also put the springs on for me said they couldn't get it in align and my truck will drive straght but the tops of my wheels will lean outwards \ /. I thought okay thats fin their barely doing it (the shop said about 4 degrees) but i figured it would settle dwn after a few hundred miles. The shop originally tried to tell me that I need the I-beam drop brackets to fix that problem. Well today the shop is telling me that my front driveshaft, tie rod ends, and radius arm bushings are all in a bind because of the longer springs and that I need to get drop brackets for the radius arms along with longer shocks.

I have called the above manufacturers along with the 4x4 shop and they all said I shouldn't need drop brackets which I shouldnt because its just a leveling kit. However every shop has told me that I need them.

The 4x4 shop told me that they could order my brackets, bronco graveyard gave me the part number to the 4-6" drop brackets, superlift said they dont make them and kept saying "you didnt buy the kit it didnt come with shocks" everytime I asked about the dang brackets, an rough country only sells their brackets in their $370 2.5" lift kit. Which from my understanding still wont fix my tierod end bind because there is not drop pitman arm?

Does anyone know where I can find JUST the drop brackets? ive seen them before but I cant remember where it was at and I lost all of my book marks on my computer. I "need" the 2.5" drop.

Would it just be easier to get a 4" lift? I know I could put stock springs back on but then my truck sits too low and my tires will rub again.

Sincerely, VERY pissed off consumer

"Planned obsolescence"...

Do not be surprised if the brackets you are looking for are no longer available. You have touched one of my "hot" buttons related to aftermarket parts for our trucks. Look at the ads in any number of truck publications and you will see how few - if any - parts are still being offered for vehicles of this vintage. You may be forced to fab your own or prowl the salvage yards.

To repeat on of my mantras: "If I bought one of those new trucks you offer all of those parts for (assuming I even wanted one) I would have no money left to BUY what you are selling."

Well I actually found the brackets. $150 for the radius arm drop brackets and $150 for the I beam drop brackets. so $300 plus labor plus the orignal $180 leveling kit. I could have just bought a lift kit and been done by now...

another quick question guys, what causes what and what fixes what?

Binded Radius Arm Bushings - drop radius arm brackets
Too Much Positive camber/Caster (which ever makes your wheels sit \ /) - Drop Beam Brackets
Binded Tie Rod Ends - Drop Pitman Arm

Is all of that correct? Those are all of the problems that im having and if all my info above is correct then a 4" lift should fix all of that for me right?

Im really not wanting to spend a whole bunch of money and returning to stock springs would probably fix everything but then my truck sits too low for me and my tires were rubbing before. Granted my front springs were wore down.

4* of positive camber will destroy your tires rapidly.

Generally any ride height change with these TTB axles will throw everything out, and you need either drop brackets, or adjustable camber bushings. The adjustable camber bushings will fix the alignment, but not the suspension geometry.

would a 4" lift from rough country fix all of the suspension geometry problems? im trying to explain to my parents what causes what issue and how to fix it. The guy at the shop just said to get drop radius arm bracket and I asked him about the Beam brackets and he said i didnt need those?!

The radius arm brackets will fix the suspension binding and improve geometry.

You'll need the TTB drop brackets if you want the camber to be anywhere close to where it needs to be.

I have 2" leveling coils on my F150 and I didn't need any of that stuff except the offset bushings. Did they somehow accidentally send you 4" coils? How much lift did you get out of the springs?

Well said Rangergirl. If I wanted to lift my truck that much I would definitely go to a solid axle.

I have the Superlift leveling springs and so does my friend and all that we needed was the alignment bushings. I believe the springs we have a Superlift 117.

My old 94 was leveled with zero issues. I would be taking my truck to someone else. That extra 2" will not cause your tie rods or radius arm bushings to bind, they just want to make more money off you

Yeah I'm going to go ahead and say that if you haven't experienced any issues that you're not really having a problem keep track of your tire wear though and see about a camber adjustment if they start wearing badly
