Ya, driving around town that 'rass', short for raspberry as my wife calls it, was tailgating me! Got a two inch lift, fender flares and 235's to put on rass. Cute little car, I like driving it. Bill, did you survive OK, I've seen some terrible pictures of destruction!
if you do make it to tucson, stop by and say hi...

This is gonna probly sound bad Aaron but i dont know Haha. It just seemed like a good kit. And since i am going to upgrade injectors down the road i would already have the soporting upgraded turbo. I am not the guy to ask bout turbos. But with the t4 mount i would have options for other turbos if i wished. I really justed read from guys on here bout what to do.

Aaron, Travis is the authority and Mike is right up there knowledge wise. Then I started talking to Jake at Irate diesel and also read an article in a mag. The bigger exhaust port to reduce EGT's convinced me to try it, I've been trying for years to get my EGT's down. Mike is eventually going to get one soooooooooooooooooo I said bye bye money!! Oh, you say you have some land on a swamp, I'll buy it. LOL

What turbo you go with purely depends on your plans for the truck and how you use it.

The S366 that Jake sells is a great little turbo for mild setups. Pretty much tuned stock AD injectors on up to 238cc/80%or 100% hybrids. One thing to keep in mind though is that once you jump up to hybrids with that turbo, you have no option but to put an external wastegate on it to keep drive pressure down. With stage 1's, 2's, or even stock AD's it will be fine though.

You also have to decide if you want to get rid of the stock uppipes to eliminate the weak uppipe donuts. If you do, there are bellowed uppipes available for the stock SD turbo setup, but your going to spend $1400 for the turbo, plus whatever the uppipes cost you and you end up with a non-rebuildable turbo. Ball bearing turbos cannot be rebuilt, FYI... Last I checked, the CHRA has to be replaced when the bearings wear out and that's not cheap.. The 38R is a good drop in replacement turbo for SDs though, don't get me wrong... Plenty of people running them reliably and making mid 400hp, some around 500hp, but I just prefer to go to an S300 or S400. Maybe I'm stubborn.

To me the biggest advantage of the S366 is you can reuild it unlike the 38r. If thee 38r needs rebuilding you have to buy a whole new center section at a tune of 1200 bucks. A new 38r it around 1800
