Single Digit Inspection Stickers?

I am trying to determine when my 52 ford was last on the road legaly. What was the last year that NC used the single digit inspection stickers. (the month only). The sticker is there but the only part that is legiable is 9.

Thanks Fuzzy, I don't want to put a sticker back on it. That is unless they had them back in 52. I don't think they did but I will have to research it. I did aquire a very rare 1952 License Plate. Back in 85 they changed the statute to where you can run the year of manufacture on your car if you keep a current plate and registration in the vehicle at all times. They also say to keep a copy of the statute in the vehicle as well. Troopers can be..... well you know.

They have reproduction inspecetion stickers for 1950 and 1954 estimates of what they think they looked like, they have copies of original 1948 and 1949 stickers that are accurate and used them as a base to build other years. Now were they required and what was needed to get one, I do not know...
