I bought a tow truck... 1979 F350.. named affectionately.. MATER

Sooo..
I am amassing so many 70's ford trucks I ran across this tow truck for 1300.00... rust free 69k original miles... with a Freuhauf wrecker body,, 460 C6 dually...loaded.. I couldnt pass it up...

Its a square headlight... my question is.. I am in love with the round headlights... it this conversion possible if I had the buckets grill etc...

Thanks

I'm pretty sure all you'll need is buckets and bezels, but have to be from a round lighted 78-79 ....the earlier 73-77 are not the same

That's a nice looking tow truck. I like the tow truck bed look without the boom and sling. I don't know why, but I just always have.

What are the chances your having buyers remorse? I would be glad to take it off your hands if you are.

You should be able to locate some 73-77 or better yet early 78 and some 79's with a work truck or custom package? with round headlights in a JY.

Get the mount buckets and outer round headlight beauty rings?, drill some new mount holes in the rad support for the buckets and there you go.

My 78 had rounds and the PO went to squares, sorry I do not have the rounds or they would be all yours. But I got a great JY 4 miles from the house.......

Thats sweet, I don't know if I would do anyhthing except go over it it with a fine tooth comb, and give it a serious buff job. Please post a few more pictures when you get a chance.

I have some round lights and buckets. They are on my truck. I am converting to squares. PM me if you are interested in them.

I concur! .....I love the round headlights myself, but I wouldn't dare replace the squares in my '79 F350 4x4 supercab

Great truck, I've actually seen quite a few Dentside wreckers listed for sale lately. This on seems to be in great shape. Fordtrucknut has one he uses to haul in his projects.
