Engine dies randomly, needs battery/pcm unplugged to restart
Hi everyone,
Today when coming back from our cabin, my 04 F-150 shut off randomly, then displayed Low Oil Pressure and the 4x4 lights came on. When I came to a stop, I put in Park and tried to restart it. Nothing would turnover. I looked at the dashboard, and the miles and temperature turned to "---,----". Still wouldn't start so I disconnected the battery and the cables to the PCM. Waited a few minutes, plugged them back in the truck started right up. Ran fine until it it died on me again. Also when I first opened the engine it did smell like some kind of electronic was fried. Any advice would be appreciative.
Thanks!
