Tool for replacing injectors.

Are there any special tools needed to replace an injector? Also is a bottle brush all you need to clean the bore before installing a new injector?

Q-tips, torx bits, torque wrench. Would be anything "special" I could think of.

Besides regular sockets and wrenches.

What do you use the Q-tips for?

When you remove the hold down bolts oil could possibly drop into the bolt holes and if theres oil in there, the hold down bolts will not reach proper torque which could cause problems.

Exclamation

the torx bit has to be a long one 2.5-3" to get it to set properly otherwise you run the risk of stripping head or bit or not even being able to get a bite on it..

Oddly enough in the "rush" I was to find them long enough, I was only able to get them at harbor frieght. Dont really like the tools there but with the torque on these bolts they were good.

I just did one of mine for the first time about a week an half ago

here is the thread on how i went about it. I did not have a code reader so I had to do it the hard way to find out which one it was. LOTS of help from the folks here.

Thanks for the info. I will be picking up the injector from the dealer tomorrow morning. I wasn't planing on doing it right now, but the valve cover is off, and I need to get some parts anyway so.... Why not throw some more at it.
