Flat decks

Here's mine when it had the 9' ford script stakebed. I swapped it out for a 9' flareside bed. Sometimes I wish I'd just put the 9' box on my '92 IDI . But of course I wouldn't be a fridge guy in that case. Both have a 60" cab to axle dimension. My '92 has a 9' service box on it. Is your IDI a single cab?

The 94 is a regular cab long bed. I have a useable 59 short bed but a 1 ton short bed is stupid. I might know where a long flare side bed is, just gotta wait for the guy to get back from vacation. I also have an extended cab long bed frame I can switch to, at this point its a frame with axles and engine so switching wouldnt be a problem.
The reason for a 10 ft bed is I can fit my vw buggy or sleds on it and not have to pull a trailer. A shorter deck with a fold down end gate isnt out of the question either. The stake bed farm truck look isnt a bad thing.

Sorry Mark! I like the look of a short bed truck but its useless if it doesnt have a big enough box to actually carry it's payload IMO. I have owned a short bed truck before, just one, it sucked.
Nobody out there running a flat deck? I need some more ideas! Should have the cab mounted by next weekend.

Tbird, what is your cab to axle dimension, or what WILL it be when the cab is mounted? You are sort of making one truck out of two I have and both of mine have a cab to axle dim of 60". Dont see how a pickup box will work unless you find a 9' box or a later box from the f350 pickups in the 70s that had the wheel wells set way back. I've never seen a 9' style side, but I'm pretty sure they made them.'That would be way cool.
