Looking for first 40's-50's project

I am sorry if I am posting this in the wrong place. I love the looks of older trucks, the 40's and 50's especially. A question that I have is did Ford, Chevy, or Dodge have a production diesel truck during those years? I have tried to search google, but all I keep coming up with are people doing diesel swaps on the old trucks or large construction trucks. If anyone has any resources or can point me in the right direction would be very much appreciated.
