Flat tow '94 4x4?
Hi folks,
I need to get my '94 ranger 4x4 manual 4-cyl. to a repair station. I'd guess it's about 6 mi away.
Instead of hiring a tow truck, I'd like to let my wife tow me using our Expedition.
A quick search mentioned the t-case oiling "everything" while towing. Is that a big deal for a 6 or 8 mile trip?

my '93 was towed on a 2 wheel u-haul dolly for about 12 miles, i mistakenly left the t/case in low range (from where i drove it up un the dolly) it was pulled the 12 miles at about 50 mph and has had no i'll effects, which is amazing because of being in low range i was efecctively spinning the transmission output shaft probly the equivelent of 80 mph. my '88 was pushed over 20 miles once and had no problems, it however was a 2wd. 6-8 miles shouldnt be a issue at all, its not so much t-case oiling a issue but the fact that the output shaft on the manual transmission isnt getting oil, but mine lived despite how it was pulled home. heres some thoughts from another forum on the subject: --> http://therangerstation.com/forums/s...=towing+ranger
