will work on these later model wheels?
Standard Cab painted argent with black accents 'outie' hubcaps, but...

Are they for F100's or F250/350's? Look exactly the same, except the F250/350's are deeper and larger in diameter.

If 11 3/4" diameter (F250/350), hubcaps will fit. These were also used on 1969/74 E300's & 1975/77 E250/350's.

Good to know. I'll check on that before I buy anything.

Sweet, hopefully I can pick up a set soon. I cleaned up the wheels yesterday and repainted them. They look great, but I really want to have the completely stock look with the hubcaps.

So I'm considering doing the whole power steering/disc brake conversion. I've read all the threads and tech articles here - https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...mpilation.html

as well as a recent thread where ND pointed out the differences in the column length even for Bendix steering boxes. Any thoughts and advice before I head down this path are appreciated. There is a donor 1974 truck available now with all the parts but I have not determined which style steering box it has yet. They yard said they would sell me the entire front suspension, disc brakes, proportioning valve, power steering equipment etc. for $200.00.

1974 F100/250 2WD & F350 will not have Bendix P/S, that's for darn sure, when you consider that 1969 was the last year it was used.

Bendix P/S: 1966/68 F100/250 2WD / 1969 F100/250 2WD before serial number G30,001.

Ford/Saginaw P/S: 1969 F100/250 2WD & F350 from serial number G30,001 / 1970/79 F100/250 2WD & F350.

Someone locally is advertising a Bendix power steering setup from a 1969 F250 for $200.00 - sounds like it is already off the truck. But from what I read earlier, this will also require a slightly different column.

Steering shaft & shift tube different length with P/S.

If you need Bendix gearbox parts, where will you get them? There are a few master seal kits available NOS, but nothing else is.

Ask for Bendix parts in chain autoparts stores, most parts clucks won't have a single clue, since last used 43 years ago.

Beginning to sound like strong arms are a better investment.

I'd hold out for a Ford/Saginaw power steering set up.

Thanks, I'm still in the process of getting to know this truck. I've been driving it around a bunch and so far nothing has fallen off, blown up, broken in half, or stopped working. Generally whenever I buy an old truck or car I expect a few things to need repairs after putting it back in operation for a few weeks. I'm sure something will give me trouble soon.

The steering is my biggest concern as you can see in my earlier posts. It is very sloppy and tends to float around a bit on the freeway. Too much or too quick input on the steering wheel can lead to an abrupt lane change. I was considering a power steering conversion. I'm not sure that is worth the effort though and may just follow ND's advice to fix up the stock suspension and manual steering.

abyars111 - I can get a Saginaw box pretty easily since the 1974 truck at the local wrecking yard must have a Saginaw box. I was just hoping to avoid having to modify the steering column. But since it sounds like that is unavoidable, I'm leaning towards leaving it alone for awhile and see if the manual steering really bothers me that much.
