should I buy a 1969 schematic or will my 1972 schematic work on the 1969 truck?

I would think they should almost be the same. Options were the same only difference would be trim packages.

Z, Should work without issue, side markers would be about the only difference.

It might be possible to find one NOS, but, there are SIX different types.

Short or long Styleside Bed? Short or long Flareside Bed? Camper Special Styleside or Camper Special Cab & Chassis?

1967/72 Styleside taiilamps same as 1969/74 Econoline, 1967/77 Bronco. The socket/wiring are swagged into the metal body. Bulb contacts corrode, use a pencil eraser to clean them.

69 f-100 ranger long bed. Previuos owner chopped it up pretty bad. Now there is a nest of black tape and poorly attached wiring that makes no sense. I was hoping to find something at several jy but everything out there is in same or worse condition

I second what Silver said, rebuild it. There are only 3 wires plus backup. One tail, one each for lf & rt brake/turn signal (shared). I have cut out old junk and put in new junk that has lasted for years.

Get a circuit tester similar to this one and you can have it repaired in a few minutes.

Easier said than done. Also when I was taking things lose in the rear i toke loose a ground wire that was connected to the frame. Would this caise my headlight to stop working? I have parking lights but when i pull the **** all the way out both parking lights and headlights do not come on

Does your 1969 have red body side marker light reflectors or do the marker lights have bulbs in them? It could have either. If bulbs:

The following taillamp harness is for a Camper Special Styleside. The only difference is, it has an extra feed wire for the separate wiring harness/plug that came with the C/S package that was used for camper clearance lights.

When not in use, this harness/plug was placed inside the glovebox.

DOTZ-14405-E = GREEN SALES CO. in Cincinnati OH has ONE = 800-543-4959.

No one had the taillamp harness for a 1968/69 8' Styleside non C/S with or without reflectors.

Well maybe, but when you can get a grip on things you wont believe just how simple it is.

Grounding completes the circuit on direct current. One probably can't have too many.

Removing the wire shouldn't stop the headlights from working. Make sure the headlights have good clean ground connections.
