Colonia...part of Woodbridge TWP...is Exit 11 off of NJ Turnpike...North Central NJ ...we are about 17 miles from NYC...SW of City....the only help they offered was 3.5 hrs of labor was charged & supposedly instead of $1900 for turbo they charged cost price of $1495...big deal...but probably last time I will go there....shame.

I know when I had purchased extended warranty when I bought truck in July 2007 the turbo seemed to be a separate item under the warranty...which also ran out last Oct 2011 & didn't have the funds at at the time to re-purchase...of course now I wish I could have borrowed the money...Hind Sight !...gets you all the time...in the Hind !
Am I right about turbo not being part of engine warranty ? and does that go for FICM/EGR as well ?
Engine warranty absolutely DOES cover the turbo and the FICM, but not the EGR. Now whether or not it is under any part of an extended warranty is another matter.

This is all in your owners manual. Find someone else to talk to at that dealership if they are feeding you w/ the wrong info .....

Thing is though, the OP is out of luck with engine warranty due to the 5 yr part. That expired in the fall of 2010.

Reply to 6.0 diesel turbo issues

Thanks guys about the warranty stuff....so basically I'm "SOL" on the over 5 yr warranty & as bad luck would have it ...wasn't able to get the extended last fall which would have covered this stuff....my friend always tells me that if it wasn't "buzzard" luck I wouldn't have any luck at all....have to laugh about that at least...
thanks
Eddie

UPDATE on this issue.....Well I did find someone else to work on my issues...he stated & I TOTALLY agree wish I had found him sooner as he could have saved me a bundle of money. He is Ray Vanni of 2R's Auto Repair in Forked River, NJ. He is about 1.5 hrs South of me but well worth the travel to. My daughter's friend's husband works for All American Ford & stated that people travel from all over even other states to get to him. He is a Senior Master Ford Diesel Instructor/Technician. In case anyone needs him he can be reached @609-549-0148 or 2R's Auto Repair

My truck runs better than the day I bought it..has more power..unbelievable..pick-up is great. Ray has provided me via e-mail after receiving my truck with TSB's on items he is looking into as well as provided me with other advice.
I WANT TO THANK ALL OF YOU GUYS FOR ADVICE & KNOWLEDGE HERE ON THIS SITE.
I found Ray via another diesel site that he advertises on.
I feel very confident with Ray & glad I have found a dependable person.
Eddie

You do know that its a violation of federal law for anyone dealing in sales or repair of vehicles to defeat emissions equipment? Plus, you just verified that it was done and made his phone number and address public knowledge.

Man, after reading some of the posts about these 6.0 diesels, not too thrilled. I bought my 2006 F250 in 2011 with 45000 miles on it. The dealer said it had a 30 day drive train warranty. When I looked at it the batterys were dead and it needed a jump. 3 days later it would hardley run and they said it was stiking injectors and said put fuel conditioner in far a few tanks. Still no change and went back to dealer and they said it was FICM $1500 to repair and they also said low boost. None of which was covered by warranty because they said that was not part of drive train? Never did fix low boost. Still code PO299 shows up. Have replaced batteries. The truck sits a lot. 4000 miles in 3.5 years. I should sell it. But needs repair. Nice condition but has issues. Not sure what to do first will never go to that dealer. Len Stoller Ford Westminster, Md. Any suggestions?

That right there is your main problem. The 6.0 doesn't like to sit. Sell, sell, sell if you really don't need a truck (notice I said need not want, very different), which based on 4k in 3.5 yrs I'm inclined to think that you don't need it, but you wanted it.

By my estimation you have maybe 50k on a 2006 model. That's incredibly low mileage. My 2006 (bought in 2005, maybe your 2006 is the same?) had well over 200k on it and not a lick of problems that I didn't cause. That's not going to help your woes any.
