2012 SEPTEMBER Chat in Tennessee

Todays forcast for western TN:
Mostly cloudy, with a 30% chance of a local boat owner collecting animals two by two...

Funny, I thought EX-Hurricane Ike was done being nasty. It dumped rain a few times - almost like the once in a while sprinkles I was expecting, but in volumes I wasn't expecting! I hope my habernero plants are okay when it's all over and done with.

If it rained like this in California they wouldn't know what to do with all that water

G2G IDEA: "Chapter Swap-Meets"
I wonder if it would draw people to announce local area Swap Meets/Flea Markets for parts trading?

I know it goes on at any kind of G2G, but to focus it like that...
That could be one hella draw, ya think???

And if it was free to get in as an FTE (or just anyone) what then?

Hmmm...

Wires is wires, man. A rem-start should just be another module to tap in.
I bet it needs an antenna, a power wire, a good ground, and a link to the starter solenoid. PLUS an over-ride for the ignition itself.
If it was me - it would supply power to the ignition until it detected the key being turned on, a later model would need links to the fuel pump relay, EEC, and all of that - but you're talking about your 'Connie, right?

We had some bad weather heading our way last night. But it seems like once it got a few miles from here it just broke up.Which I am glad it did. But they caught heck about 60 miles north of here. Had several good showers last night and this morning too but none of the bad stuff. Rain = good Bad stuff = bad

The T took care of everything but the tach and horn, really frustrating, I can't get to the stuff, my 5.4 has no distributor, so can't quick tap there.

If it's an electronic ignition the EEC should have a tach output - REGARDLESS if the van was not equipped with a tach guage (standardisation).

It would.. WILL I should say, take a wiring diagram to spot which pin on the EEC connector.

The horn should have a relay that can be tracked down, you don't want to go direct to the horn because it needs too much current.

Happy Labor Day and Monday to everyone! I'm working, but will hopefully be grilling some steaks this afternoon----weather permitting.

Holy smokes, it is labor day isn't it?

I completely forgot about that because I'm a retired old fart that doesn't have to do anything but screw around in my garden and garage anymore...

Well, Labor Day is for relaxing Wolf, so you covered it right properly.

Rain did not allow for grilling, but broiled steaks were nearly as good. We're STILL getting showers and everyone has AGAIN forgotten how to drive in the wet stuff---wrecks are everywhere. Hope everyone has a great Tuesday.

HAH! I have anahiem chiles ripe, and damned good Hungarian hot wax peppers. The bells are nice - but not ready quite yet.

This next weekend I invite ANYBODY to come on up here and help me get some of the tomatoes off the vines and carry them home....

But I doubt anybody will.

So far anything like that I have done was a resounding failure

(shame on YOU)

Honestly

Which of you have *****?

I have great connections at the $ store across the road.

Most of them love what I'm doing

I actually hooked up with an hispanic girl who's mom knows a lot of old spanish recipes...

Luck is what you make happen, most of that comes from caring for people

I don't care if you are red, white, black, yellow, or tan.

YOU ARE A PERSON!
