I saw that video on Facebook too.

The TDI in those is pretty remarkable. I think I heard someone say 500 ft/lbs stock?

Can't verify, I'm at the DMV.

Met someone driving one of those yesterday. Apparently the engines are fantastic... as are the cost of service and parts. They're so rare that even the VW mechanics aren't sure what to do with them, and even minor repairs usually require pulling the engine.

Also - AWD and electronic traction control probably help too, as much as I used to turn my nose up at 'electronic babysitters'.

Shoud say hi to everyone as well, it's been awhile.

News: New job - Doing CAD and running the waterjet for a shop in FL. Won't plug the shop unless I get sponsorship set up, but having a ball doing it. I can use my 7.3 to test fit parts... thinking end-tanks for a monster intercooler. Have keys to the entire shop for pet projects in my down time too, and a boss that stresses the importance of getting the heck out early on friday because weekends are for fishing & family time.

Also just found out that we've 'oopsed' (on purpose this time), so I won't be able to get rid of the baby stuff just yet. Looking forward to having another minion. As it is, my 1 yr old daughter already bounces up and down giggling and making grunting sounds when I fire the truck up... it's her best impression of the 7.3... and I didn't even have to teach her that. She hums along with gear changes too...

Got the job at On Call Medics. I will now be staffing events at the LA Convention Center. Also passed my ADL (ambulance drivers license) test. I will be applying to AMR and GoldCoast Ambulance on Monday.

Hopefully I can get on with AMR. They pay well and offer paid training to further my certifications.

Congratulations!

Langer's deli, El Tepeyac, and Phillipes are all good food choices in the area.

You asked for it.

Congrats on the new job, Trey.

Now I must ask, who's the real Mr. EMT?

Drag racing the ambulances is the only true way to tell.
