2007 FX2 power mirrors are dead

Okay, I need some help here!

I've looked up several threads about dead power mirrors (and or seats), and tried to look into the wiring below the fuse box. The fuse tested perfect.

I've gone as far as to -removed- the fuse box to inspect wires wrapped together behind it, and nothing.

Most threads talk about orange wires with a green stripe meeting in a corroded splice. I can only find one orange wire with a green stripe, no splice found on it yet. Other splices (like on white wires with blue stripe)look very good, no trace of corrosion at all!

I know fuse #3 powers the mirrors, but it is impossible to visually trace which wires it is connected to, even with the fuse box in my hands... I guess tomorrow I will probe all the contacts for connection to fuse #3...?

I want to take photos of this mess, it might help someone else.

Any ideas at all?

Lots of pins all over the place!



Well who woulda thunk... China!



Just testing to see if all this uploading of photos works...

So far it looks like I am on my own with this one... So here is the pinout that connects to the fused side of fuse #3. I found it faster than expected, by rattling my voltmeter probe around all the different plugs while it was in continuity check mode.



Next I'll track down the wire that fits on that pin. I should have a chance today. Things started getting busy here, so the truck is on the backburner.

I'm hoping I haven't made an error somewhere along the line and I am not tracking down the wrong wire!

Seems like this is a dead end, so maybe this will help someone else.

Here is a photo of the area where the fuse box is located, it has been removed and you can see all the wires that are normally around and behind it.



Next is a photo of the connector and wire that matches up with the pinout for fuse #3. It's orange with a green stripe like was mentioned on the other threads.



I've followed that wire for about 30 inchs down into the harness and it has no splices anywhere! Not sure where to look next...

Does anyone know where this orange and green striped wire is going?
