Brake Metering Valve Help

Brake Metering Valve Help
In taking apart the front of my 69 F250 Camper Special to get it ready for the new engine, I went through the whole brake system and inspected all the components. This truck has the optional dual piston front disc brakes and what's listed as the metering valve (C8TZ-2B161-A) in not in good shape. The spring loaded plunger is corroded frozen and the protective rubber boot is gone. I can't seem to find a replacement on line and the dealers I've called say that it is no longer available. Does anybody have a replacement part number for this or an alternative. It's not part of the proportioning valve so is it necessary?
Thanks

I'd ditch the factory proportioning valve and go with an adjustable unit made by Wilwood.. it's only about $75 from Speedway Motors.

Thanks HIO.
Do these have a way to limit (meter) the application of the front brakes? I see the proportioning adjustment I just wonder if these are adjustable (or set) for a front disc/rear drum combination?
FWIW I was planning on swapping the rear end out for a newer disk rear and with it replace the 4:11 with 3:55. I'm just out of funds for this project so that has to wait.

Of course it's necessary, why would FoMoCo install it, if it wasn't?

During braking, fronts brakes do over 60 percent of the work. Rear discs will always use less volume .. that's why there is only one brake line to the rear brake system regardless of make while both front brakes typically have separate hard lines (Some hot rod builders use only one and install a tee). Also, note the size difference btwn front calipers and rear calipers.. the front calipers (regardless of the number of pistons) will have more internal piston surface area than the rears.
After the rear disc swap, all ya need to do is adjust the prop valve to have the fronts lock up slightly before the rear brakes lock up.
