In Tank Fuel Pumps dont switch all time

can it be the switch on the dash or the fuel pumps are going bad and plus the truck acts like it doesnt want to shift when the pumps are making the truck starve for fuel i think any help would be appericated thanks james

Yes it sounds like the switch on the dash.
The have nothing to do with one stopping and the other one starting up.

If you are saying that you change tanks and then the truck stalls out then could be the pump in the selected tank.

very strange problem for sure one pump seems to work one day, they work like off and on does that stilll sounds like the switch and do you know if the engine is starving for fuel will it make the tranny shift slow, like i have to let my foot off the gas to get it to shift to the next gear

First you to find out if there are any codes stored in CM.
Then I think you need to put a fuel pressure tester on it to see what fuel pressure you have.
