Rear Gear ratio?

Is there a way to tell via the VIN what is my rear gear ratio?

The VIN itself...no. The VIN run through a model decoder...yes.

The easiest way is to look at the white driver's door tag, located on the door itself facing you when you open it. Lower portion of the door. There should be a 2 digit code under "Axle Code". Two numbers is an open diff, One letter and One number is a limited slip.

Once you locate that axle code, then this link should help:

What year Expy do you have ?

Assuming you have a 2007 and up Expedition (your in the 2007 and up forum)then you either have 3:31's or 3:73's.

And if this is true, you dont have LS either.
