It just snaps in. No fasteners to remove. I pulled the small glove box down, and then reach in and up to grab the module. Wiggle it around and it will pop out.

I had mine out to install upfitters, so the pics from that job might help you figure it out. See this link.

Which year?

in 2008+ you can pop the lower corner panels out of the center of the dash, then push the controller and upfitter switches out from behind.

That TCB fault could be a rusted up 7 way connector in the back..... open it up and take a look. It's pretty common.

Turning off TBC Fault

Sorry to revive an old thread but having the same TBC alerts issue everytime I startup the 2006 F-250

What is the best way to fix this issue? Will I need to purchase a new TBC?

charto911,
Have you disassembled the 7 way trailer connector at the hitch yet? I don't have the factory controller - I have a Tekonsha - hooked up to leave after camping and no trailer brakes. My problem was the wiring connector that plugged in to the back of the 7 pin connector at the trailer hitch. I have a pull behind 28' TT. Some cleaning with electrical cleaner and a good solid plug in cured my problem. My F-250 is an 06 also. Four torx screws and an unplug from the wiring harness on the back side and it comes off and apart for easy cleaning.

this is common.. disassemble the 7 pin connector at the rear bumper... water/dirt/sand/you name it. gets inside...

clean or replace..

electronics hate that stuff at its extended wire connectors..
