Acrysol .. made by Kent Industries, sold by automotive paint supply stores. Removes stickers, adhesive, wild mule p!ss, road tar and etc., won't damage plastic headlamp covers, paint. Dealers have used this stuff for decades.

If the lenses have yellowed, tube toothpaste (with a bit of water) works better than Meguiars PlastX.

"You wonder where the yellow went when you scrub your lenses with Pepsodent!"

I tried a window scraper razor blade (gently & carefully) over on a far edge, didn't do much.

You think to use a cloth wheel on a drill or one of those sponge ***** they use to buff rims ect? maybe some chemicals and speed will help.

John...go to NAPA and pick up the 3M headlight restoration kit. Its about $18. It includes sanding discs and a polish. It'll take it off. Just need a variable speed drill.

Mail just came, there was an Advance Auto flyer in there that has a $5.00 mail rebate for the 3M kit.

Glad I didn't go to NAPA already.

Good fortune today. I bought a set of headlights from an 08 in excellent shape for a total of $30.00 a piece.

I think I can put my old ones on Craigslist and recover most of that.

I cleaned the air filter with a good blow job, added Lucus Upper Cylinder Lubricant to one tank of gas, and to the last fill up and the mpgs has gone from about 12mpgs to 14.8 on last nights fill up. Hoping to get it up in the 17 or so range.

SP The Lucas product is an injector cleaner. Don't know if there are better ones out or not. I am not a big fan of snake oils but I got turned on to their power steering lube. That will take the whine right out of a steering pump.

tharepairguy The air cleaner on my old 66 gets dirty but these newer vehicle filters are tunneled so that grabbing the air hose and giving them a blow will keep them going for a while.
