I just use the cheap ones from autozone. Maybe blow the $$ on fronts but rears I dont think you'll notice any difference.

Wagner ThemoQuiet are about the best and most expensive. I just did mine on my 87 250 and went with the Wagner severe duty. They were about half of the ThermoQuiet. They are mainly for severely weighted vehicles. They look like they are impregnated with metal. I probably would have went with the ThermoQuiets but I just bought the truck, did brake cables, seals, oil and other stuff the truck needed. So I was budgeting.

Not to disagree with anyones preference but I wouldn't put house brand pads or shoes (including NAPA premium) on anything but an old beater or something you are going to sell. You also want the linings riveted to the backing plates.

just remember nothing is without it's cons.the more metal in the shoe, the more ware you'll have on the drums.
cheap shoes last a very long time and they're easy enough to swap out anyway when they do ware out.
if you had shoes fail inside 10k miles, then somethings wrong with your adjusters.tell me your secrete cus my adjusters don't tighten 'em up enough on their own.bugs me.i backup enough in the day you'd think they'd snug right up and burn out haha.

adjusters work fine. they are brand new. replaced them when i (should say when my HS auto shop) did the rear brakes last year.

i have about 1-2/32" before i hit the rivets.

i use NAPA premium, and get 60-70 thousand miles out of them in my 88. and that is averaging 10,000 lbs + most of the time.

Sticky parking brake cables or the levers for the park brake can cause premature wear.
