If the wire itself has 12v on it when disconnected, then there is a short in the harness, or in something connected to the other end of the harness. If the point on the trans where that wire connects to it has 12v, then the short is in the trans possibly.

Also thought possible tranny short but disconnected all wiring from tranny then checked ground again and still had 12v....should note forgot to disconnect battery cables before removing tranny to install new tc..would that cause failure in pcm?

Checked all harness assemblies from tranny back to main and nothing wrong what other electrical system would be connected to this circuit ?? fuse that blows is the one protecting the pcm

Yes fuse 9.
the wire that has the 12v is a black ground wire attached to the passenger side wiring harness for the tranny and the ground was attached to tranny prior to tranny removal to install new tc...but even when all wiring harness is removed from tranny ground still has 12v

Is it possible that you pinched 2 wires somewhere and now they are chaffed and i
the grounds getting power that way? Id look the harness over very well.

So have chased the wire with 12v all the way the back to the main wiring harness port at firewall... So do I keep chasing it under the dash as well...or is this getting more identifiable?
