Got the box assembled, and a lot more primer laid.
The kit didn't come with the bolts through wood to the frame .. I bought some galvanized carriage bolts, and the washers that bite into the wood to allow it to be tightened... anyone have bad luck doing this?
Once the primer is dry I can lay out the wood, but I think before that I'll finish the back of the cab.

The hoods been kicking my butt. It was dinged up and rebuillding the middle raised line has been a test of patience... 2 full days on it to get it in primer (picture was from one of first attempts)
I got the tips for my exhaust, not sure if side or rear yet. I'm leaning towards running the rear bumper because the rear bed sill is just too high for my taste.
Been distracted with deer season and a new SUV lately, but hope to make another push before winter if weather continues to cooperate.
Full size jimmy with top off
yea, it's a Chevy, but it's got power, cruise, injection, and will be my winter and up north vehicle.

I want to mention just in case you are unaware. I used an air file and wasn't making near as good of progress as I thought I should. I was chasing waves. I bought an assortment of durablock sanding blocks and started making good progress. I used 1 that is about air file size. I had to go back to hand sanding but it was getting flat. I usually go through 3 applications of high build primer before it's good enough for paint. I think the air file had to much give to get it good without many more times. This is the end result.

Thanks vonzipper, I had the same problem with a random orbital.
I kinda gave up, took a step back and realized even if I spent another 2-3 of my weekends working them, they would still have problems on the interior, and be full of mud. I bought used doors to replace them, and am getting a jump on finishing the cab work by shopping it out.
After checking out a dozen shops I picked one, and after the "I'll have time to take it in 2 weeks", every 2 weeks a few times I found another that took it, now I'll be hoping they actually are working on it.
In the meantime, I have space to work on other parts, and am narrowing paint options. It's the details that are the major time consumers, but I'm making another push to get (closer) to the finish.

Been at the paint store trying to pick colors and think I have decided on PPG delfleet single stage in gray ....
(The middle one, Or right in the bottom pic) as those of you whom have picked out paint, the pictures don't show the true color as well as a spray out, and the bigger the better so I could check it out in all kinds of light.
The body shop had me stop by to bring the door seals and settle up on some of the work they have done, and the progress is fairly steady. They are many times more efficient than I am, but I kinda expect that at their hourly rate... they are hoping to have cab in a few coats of primer and blocked out before next week.
I on the other hand, have plenty of work to do on sanding the epoxy primer on the other parts, before I can spray epoxy and regular primer on those pieces I have (everything but cab).
