What did you do to the Bronco Today?

I was tightening mine the other night after I "fixed" my rear brakes (now it's making a thumping noise between 15-30 mphs, goes away after/before that.) I had the truck in neutral to make sure the brakes didn't drag and it didn't roll anywhere when I was tightening up the lugs with a 4way.. in neutral, I was surprised - and a little nervous.

As for today, checked all the brakes, noticed a wet rear diff and wet sanded the headlights, boy is that a pain.

My new vinyl floor came in today. Have to let it sit for about 2 days and relax the wrinkles out of it. I will install it Saturday. Very high quality vacuum formed. Also came with the insulation to cover all passenger area. $173.00 shipped to the front door. Now that summer is almost here it is about time to get back on some rust repair. I cut out and welded in new driver side patches around rear wheel well. Last week I noticed where I stopped replacing, some rust was startimg to show up. Apparently I didnt go far enough. I will most likely strip the whole rear 1/4 this go around and see exactly what I do have to work with. For about $160 you can buy a whole 1/4. If the junkyards around here werent in such a hurry to crush stuff I might could find some OEM panels, But when they get old trucks in they strip engines and trannys, maybe rear ends and crush the rest within a week. Hurts my feelings to see these trucks squished into little rectangles.

Started my floor installation this morning. Wire brushed some surface rust and painted with some Rustoleum. Waiting now on paint to dry. Man talk about boring. If you have ever done it you know where the phrase "Like watching paint dry" comes from. I'll post some more pics when I am finished.

I know very well what it's like to watch paint dry. And I know what it's like to have bugs and ***** fly into the fresh wet paint and mess it up... And to have the plastic bag fender covers come untapped and fly up into the wet paint, and so on... A word of advice, don't spray paint the hood of a truck in your front yard... nature is somethin else...

Almost finished with it. Just have to remount seats and decide whether I want to cut a hole in dash for stereo to go back in. Probably not. I have a box built with stereo mounted in it I had fastened under dash and will probably go back like that. The wrinkle will go away when I put the heat gun on it and stretch it up the firewall.

I too would like to see the stereo box. I have a hole in the dash but would like to close it up if I can find a trim piece with the radio delete option. I spent most of today fixing my Excursion since I got tired of it misfiring whenever I would drive it. I put the Bronco on the back burner so I can work on my motorcycle this week.

[IMG][/IMG] Busy weekend, finished up the electric fan upgrade. Wow that thing cools like no other. Dropped tranny pan and put in new filter and fluid. Installed bucket seats from my old 94 F150. Took driver side axle back out cause it was leaking. Black rtv all around flange and back plate. Installed overflow tank. Installed new battery tray and hold down. Installed hold down ties for extra fuel tanks and spare tire. I'm Calling it ready for Moab!

Little off topic, but ya know, watching the paint dry.

When I got my 78 there was a whole for a radio that previously got stolen so I went to a local wrecking yard and pulled a dash trim out. It had the original radio spot with the small rectangle and 2 holes for the volume/tuning *****. I took a dremel and carefully cut out the rectangle for my replacement radio. It looked very clean for a while, till I did a bit of offroading, now the radio has fallen back into the dash...
