1968 f600 10x10
I found what is listed as a1968 f600 6x6 but I can't seem to find any information on this truck. He is two and a half hours away so I hate to drive down just to find out that it is just a old m35a2 with a ford body. Did anybody make this type of conversion. What axles would it have. Any information would be great.

A 6x6 is a 3 axle truck with all three axles driven.
They definitely exist, but they were modified from regular trucks by companies like Marmon-Herrington and Coleman. There might have been a few others too.
Ask the seller if it has any badges from MH or any of the other conversion companies. Usually they'd add one inside the cab or on the hood or fenders.

Not sure about an M35--those are a bigger truck than an F600. In the late '60s, you could find M135 trucks converted to civilian use, some with fiberglass front ends, some with Ford 361 FT motors. This was in the Seattle-Tacoma area, an outfit called Wittenberg Motors.
The M135:

Millions served. They were GMC, and the axles have a "tic-tac-toe" pattern on the covers. The first on in the pic has the 1100x20 singles, most were 900x20 with duals out back. All were "full time" 6x6 with a dual range 4 speed Hydramatic. The conversions usually went to a Clark 5er as the automatics were trouble.
I can't find anything about Wittenberg in Tacoma, must be long gone. As for a Ford cab on one, never heard of that.
If it is really a Ford, the prior posts have it on the conversions. If it is an old GI, who knows what was done or who did it.
