Talking Project Rustoleum (a bunch of truck **** !)

The day has come for me to start working on Rustoleum . Since I can't start ripping her down to bare chassis yet because I don't have the garage free of junk & code enforcement want to get rid of her should she be incomplete... I'll start on the small stuff first.

Today I just replaced Rustoleum's split in half headliner & I removed her rear tail light bezels along with the screws (I'll have pictures of the bezels tomorrow).

Thanks for the encouragement !

Now on the list of things I'll do to Rustoleum tomorrow is to start WD-40ing the exhaust bolts for her exhaust removal. She will be getting stacks come hell or high water since she will be a plow truck again.

Yes, I've been waiting for this moment too. I would have started saturday but you already knew what happened there. There will be more pictures today when I take pictures of the tail light bezels & the start of the exhaust (did someone say open headers ! )

I'll make a suggestion to you; get a quality penetrating oil. PB blaster is the one I have used for years. Its much better than WD40 for penetrating rust and scale. Others use Kroil but I've never seen it on shelves. Some swear by an ATF+acetone.

I'd would invest in PB Blaster but I really don't have the money to invest for that just yet (the factory truck manuals have financial priority for now). But, I happen to know that I have two cans of WD-40 laying around the house. So, I'll use what I got on hand for now but if WD-40 can't cut it I'll go walk to my local NAPA and get PB Blaster.

Post Ok... I hate when I forget something important !

I managed to forget my youngest nephew's birthday today. So, the only thing truck related I did today was go to NAPA to get PB Blaster & I finally got the pictures of Rustoleum's tail light bezels. Since I'm going to scrap my stock bed sometime in the future, anything on Rustoleum's bed will be on sale as I pull them off the bed & place it in the Ford truck parts for sale forum.

Bezels :

Ok... things didn't go as planned today. But, at least I did get off something & got some pictures !

This morning I did try to unbolt the exhaust. But, for the life of me could unbolt them even with a spray of PB Blaster. That & I didn't have some of the tools to do the job properly. So, within the next couple of days I'll borrow my brother in law's hacksaw (with my sister's permission ) to saw my exhaust off to scrap them & make room for the exhaust stacks that will be on Rustoleum in her future. As for what I accomplished today was getting the exhaust collector hardware off of Rustoleum. Then, I bagged them & tagged them !

Here is those pictures :

Stacks!

If you got a video camera, could you get a video of the open headers?
I love the sound!

Yes, That was in the plans. My phone has video capablities along with a camera. So, when my exhaust is completely removed expect me to post a video via youtube . Hopefully I don't **** the neighbors off...
