Shuttling Bench Seat Problem

Shuttling Bench Seat Problem
So, the bench seat isn't secure. It shuttles/scoots/rolls forward quickly whenever the truck lurches (like it did when I was learning to drive manual on it... yes I just learned stick with a 1 ton truck, very silly and fun) or I brake quickly.
I tied down the seat adjustment handle, so that it can't pop out of position and send the seat forward with the truck's momentum. It's not the most finessed solution, but it works for now.
I explained the problem to Mid-Fifty and they sent me these seat bumper bolts. I figured it would be obvious where to install them, but I'm clueless. I didn't see any holes for them or old, worn ones.
What do I do with these bolts? Is this even the right solution for my problem? Anyone else had an exciting, scary, sliding bench?
Thanks for your help!

Ok, so the spring is in place.
Does the lever to which the spring is attached move freely? The spring must move that lever for the seat to lock into position on its own.
Will the seat lock into position if you push the lever down while moving the seat? If not, the rearmost end of that lever is bent or broken so it is failing to engage the movable seat rail.
