Exclamation Back up / Reverse lights stay on when lights are on in all gears

Hey Guys,

So I have been having this issue since I bought my truck and it is starting to get annoying hearing everyone yell "Hey, buddy, your reverse lights are on." I know they are on I have just been working 15 hour days 7 days a week here in Calgary. I have researched a little and found that this may be linked to the reverse light switch. I am not aware of its location on my vehicle ; 2006 PSD F350 Lariat. If anyone could give me some advice I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe it's on the shift linkage on the side of the transmission.

I have had some insight on where it MAY be located. I am just wondering where it is actually located and if it is an actually switch. I have a backup light switch on my wife explorer which is controlled by a toggle switch. I appreciate the help again everyone.

BACK-UP LIGHTS

The way you describe it

"Reverse lights stay on when lights are on in all gears"

It sounds like someone reversed the tail lamp socket and the reverse lamp socket in both tail lamp assemblies.

Do the reverse lights work normally when the headlamps are off ??? Do the backup lights illuminate when you step on the brake ???

We need more info.
