installing downpipe to turbo? is there a trick?

installing downpipe to turbo? is there a trick?

ok i only have 2 hands that can fit back there, its a PITA to line the downpipe up and put the clamp on it and tighten it while keeping it all straight. is there a trick to doing this?

07 f350
I did mine in the driveway on jack stands & tied string around the downpipe at the flange, pulled it up close then tied it off. That was my third hand & from there it was a snap.

After lots of cursing, I did the same thing and it literally took me 5min to finish.

if its a 4 inch pipe its doesnt fit too easy,you need to flatten the side of it towards the firewall.

I don't know about the "07"s but the 4" downpipe on my "04" there was plenty of room.

Just did mine and the way I solved it was to get another pair of hands.... Had my brother hold it from bottom while I managed to manipulate it into place and get the clamp on and tightened

My '06 has a tab ( sorta like a flat hook) on the pipe that hooks on the lip of the turbo. The bolt on the marmon clamp straddles it. Goes together no sweat. I put the back turbo bolt in before hooking up the pipe. Little bit of xtra room helps some.
