Ecoboost F-150 Vs. '13 6.2 Chevy
For you Ecoboost guys. I drove one of these two days ago and was very impressed with it. Now I understand why you guys love your trucks.
Honestly wasn't expecting this result. Not my vid, found on youtube.

I have a 2012 eco crewcab, 6 1/2' bed 4wd. It's lifted/levelled about 3 1/2", 275/20 Goodyear Wranglers, 3.73 gears. Don't know the truck weight, but I also had a 200+ lb. buddy riding shotgun.
I took it to the track last night and it ran 15.43 @ 89.57 mph on the pass I made. Diff lock on, 2wd, trac control off. I didn't boost it much on launch ('cause I know it usually just spins out) but still had some spin/hop.
There was also a quad cab hemi 4wd which appeared to be totally stock, and I watched him run 16.4 - 16.5 consistently all evening. There was also a Denali crew with the big engine (he claimed at 600hp) that ran consistently around 13.55 in the 90+ mph range.
Just for comparisons. These were actual runs at the local strip, not water cooler talk. As always, your mileage may vary!

13.5 seems a tad slow for a 600hp beast. I think the Denali owner might have been blowing you some hot air. I mean I've seen 5.0L and Ecoboost F-150's run as quick as 14.0 flat with no more than a tune. I would guess any 600hp truck would likely be running low 12's...If not faster.

Honestly I have seen a bunch of these videos and for me they don't mean squat. I really could care less how they perform on the drag strip or racing another truck. Where it might be a bit (and I do stress a bit) entertaining, the thing that matters to me is how will it tow, what is the milage, and how will it last.
If I wanted a fast vehicle a truck would not be my first choice. Besides...the person videoing the race was asleep at the wheel!
Regardless of the outcome of these "races" I cannot wait to get my own ecoboost F150!
