This is prolly a 1 page thread at most
Went to a "Cabela's Club Invitation Only Party". About a 60 mile drive to get there. Pea soup fog requiring 20 to 30 mph speeds for long stretches on the way home.
Had some very good finger food, even some chunks of chicken, buffalo, elk and venison.
But, a really funny thing happened last night while I was there.
I took a scope I've had for several years to get checked out in an optics clinic they were having. The darn scope got so attached to something else at the clinic that I was forced to bring both of them home. Now I have one more "mouth" to feed.

I see you got me a birthday present. I'll be there in a few days to pick it up....

Come on down. My hunting partner and I were just talking about first test of its stopping power using the 168gn Sierra Match King and who we could get to be the test target. We'll start at a 1000 yards and work our way down to 0. If you are still standing at 0 yards, it is yours. Thanks for volunteering!

I was in Sponsored individual and team National Level Competition for many years so I have a bit of "residual benefits" laying around.
It won't be for rapid fire "noise making". Big game and varmint hunting - with a bit of a flare. (A little fun at the next gun club "top pot shot" competition wouldn't be out of the question either.)
Probably won't go through much more ammo in it than I would in the '06 or .300 Winchester Mag.
Who knows, we get Obummer out and Trump in, maybe some old M60 belted surplus stuff will start showing up for cheap again.
Have a few other toys in 5.56 to play with when ammo sales are on or I'm not too lazy to sit down and reload.
