Good morning crew!
Great pics, Jon! I like the way you tied pink ribbons to your livestock! That way they shouldn't get shot at, anyway! One just never knows any more!
I am going to have to start getting ready for my road trip! It will be a long week!
1500 miles up, then a couple days loading furniture and hauling junk, then 1500 miles back down!
Hope all have a great day! Later

Gigger, he was probably about 1.5 miles from where he could get his truck. I appreciate that he had ATVs and was respectful of not riding them off the road. So many think if they shoot an animal they can go anywhere with their ATV to retrieve the downed animal. He put the work in to get his elk off the mountain. At least it was all downhill for him.
Don, the colt was a little put out that I put girly pink ribbons on him. But hey, it's hunting season and his color is pretty close to the color of the elk. So he can put up with them for a few hours.
I don't worry too much about hunting season. Having grown up and spent almost every fall on the mountain hunting. I realize that hunters have to identify their game. Is it an elk, deer, moose antelope etc. All of them are found on the mountain. Is it a bull elk or a cow. And Utah even has Spike Bull vs mature bull tags. So a hunter has to see how many points there are on the antlers before he pulls the trigger. If they have to look close enough at an elk to determine that, They better be able to tell a horse from an elk.
A few brightly colored ribbons should be enough to help identify that this is not a likely target.
It was a great day to be out. Everybody enjoy your Sunday.

Good afternoon guys. We've had almost 10" of rain here since yesterday morning and still a lot luckier than the folks in Carolina, bit we have 13 trees down within 250 feet of the campers and 7 within 100 feet. One could've gotten us but twisted another direction. We are still having 50 mph gusts so I am staying another night along with my partner and her husband. I am not gonna tow 70 miles with that type of wind regardless of having a 5er. I've seen too many go belly up. We still have more rain and wind coming in. Gonna be another long night.

Phew... Almost caught up.
Nice pics PH - and ribbons on the horse. I don't know if I would trust a hunter to tell the difference between a horse and an Elk... So good call on that.
Seems like winter is around the corner.
Still hot and humid down here in Miami. Although the Hurricane is making it a nice and breezy day - like standing in front of a hair dryer.
Bunch of doctor appointments coming up this week including getting an internal cardiac monitor implanted on Thursday.

Good evening gang.
Looks like several of you are having a great weekend, and others - maybe not so much.
Monty, stay safe. At least the satellite dishes are still there! Hopefully, the trees closest to your spot are all pine, rather than hardwood so they are less likely to blow down when the soil gets saturated like that.
Take care guys. Gotta make perfume.
